Pink Moment of the Week

This week I found some beautiful flower paper at a Tiger store
and used it to collage a button:

both sides of the botton:

It fits the theme "collage on unconventional surfaces" in Mati Mc Donough e-course
and will look great on a garment too.

Raspberries, Peacoks and Temples

With a so-so summer so far,
surrealist collage goes dreaming of summer travel:

Soon, my heart, soon.

Paintings, this Week

Surrealist collages were the theme this week
in Mati Rose McDonough e-course Daring Adventures in Collage.

This really stretched my creative muscles
and is not something I would come up with myself.

Surrealist collage number one turned out rather spiritual ...

and number two kind of sexy:

Meanwhile my studio floor looks like this:

I am looking forward to two more messy daring collage weeks!

Hubby cooks vegan

What looks like hodgepodge ...

... is actually called Spartan Millet Mediterranean.

From German vegan sensation Attila Hildmann's book "Vegan for Fit".
A huge portion for hungry ancient warriors and
with some more tomato paste, salt and cumin quite edible.

Another meal, another Hildmann recipe, another grain -
popped Amaranth for breakfast:

... also with raspberries, soy joghurt, rosted coconut flakes
and way too much agave syrup.

Hubby put so much effort in making this for breakfast for Clara and himself
and even Clara found it much too sweet.

You can find both recipes (and some more) here.

Hubby's Veggie Garden 2.0

Hubby's garden activities started later then intended this year,
but now they are taking form:

Zucchini, pumpkin and self-sown potatoes from last year.

A new addition:

 tomatoes

... and built just yesterday:

a herb garden
with rosemary, oregano, thyme, parsley, cilantro, chives, ruccola
and a bean plant.

We'll see what this season brings!

Paintings, this Week

Or more appropriate collages.
I am taking Mati Rose McDonough e-course
Daring Adventures in Collage these weeks.
The perfect summer course.
This week we made "messy collages".

After all this messiness I felt like some order too:

Have a beautiful summer weekend!

Hubby cooks vegan

Hubby's weekly vegan cooking has lost its pace recently,
but he has cooked this lentil stew twice in May:

It's the thick lentil soup from "Peace Food".
(German recipe here)

The soup is one of Clara's favourites,
she eats bowl after bowl of it.

To fire up Hubby's vegan cooking again,
he wished for this book for his birthday:

The German edition of the Forks over Knives resipe book

The documentary about the positive impact of a plant-based diet is well worth watching, and now I am looking forward to all those new meals that will come out of this book (browsing through it was appetizing, and cooking without oils sounds adventurous too).

Yoga Time Out

My wish and my main birthday present was a day at the German Kundalini Yoga Festival. A full day just for myself, Kundalini Yoga and yoga community. I am so lucky that the festival happens just outside of Oldenburg, a mere 12 kilometers away. So on Saturday morning, at about 7.30 am I hopped on my bike and set out for a beautiful day.

a beautiful ride along the canal

I was in a great mood.

But I underestimated the power of nature
and soon my hayfever got the best of me.

I slowly recovered at the festival site.

an old converted farm

Then I could really enjoy the yoga, lectures, sunshine, company and food.

And I also had some time to knit,
very appropriately-coloured.

Just a perfect yoga day.

I came back home replenished.

Hello June!

June kicked off yesterday with a bang:

Oh yes, my 37th birthday.

And it will also be Clara's Papa's (aka Hubby) birthday soon.
Time to party
and enjoy the start of summer.
