Stamp and Synchronicity

The weekend before Carolina's dental surgery
I suddenly felt compelled to make another stamp,
and especially in the form of a hand.

I went through some books and the internet
until I decided on a pattern.

Carving out was quite a challenge and delicate,
but I enjoyed the focus it required.

And as it was only the third stamp
I have ever made,
I learned a lot while making it.

Only later I discovered that the hamsa is a symbol of protection.

The dental surgery went as good
as could be expected under the circumstances.
I think, working through my feeling with art
helped me to cope with my inner tension.

And can you guess my surprise,
when Carolina got this dress the next weekend
from her grandmother?

Hard not to believe in synchronicity.
